Contract Management

Contracts - The Challenge

Shippers with large volumes of shipments need many carrier relationships to ensure proper coverage of lanes and good customer service. This usually translates to many individually negotiated rates and agreements with many carriers on many different lanes of traffic. This can mean that the critical pieces of contract information, including negotiated accessorial rates, contract terms and conditions are locked up in file cabinets. Distributed over many pieces of paper, accessing this information can be timely and inefficient, especially when most transportation departments are working to service customers, manage exceptions and keep on top of shipment status.

Contract Management - The CarrierPoint Solution

CarrierPoint has incorporated contract management into transportation execution by storing carrier contracts on-line. All the details of carrier contracts are available through a secure web-based viewer, throughout a shippers organization in multiple locations, divisions and departments. Shippers define the rules for carrier access and maintenance of contracts, internal access to viewing and maintaining contract terms and the application of contract accessorial information. Contract terms can be automatically integrated into rating and tendering business rules. When shipments are delivered, auto-freight payment can be triggered using inbound dock check-in, accessorial capture and compliance with contract terms.
