ATLANTA, GA, March 19, 2001 /CarrierPoint/
CarrierPoint(SM), Inc., a leading provider of Web-based logistics software solutions to the $154 billion less-than-truckload and full-truckload freight market, today announced a new version of its Web-based software solutions.
Release 1.4 provides CarrierPoint customers with full-featured tools to streamline day-to-day transportation functions, both within their organization and among their trading partners. The integrated Web dispatch and dock scheduling features allow shippers and carriers to interact very efficiently by allowing "hands-free" scheduling when shipments are awarded. Release 1.4 also provides dock-to-dock execution, allowing shippers and their vendors, customers and transportation providers to interact in real time through the CarrierPoint solution. All information, such as scheduled and actual arrival and departure times, loading and unloading times, and shipment reconciliation information is collected for decision support and trend analysis.
Release 1.4 also includes enhanced performance management features, allowing shippers and carriers to track partner performance.
CarrierPoint solutions provide advanced Web-based and e-mail notification features that keep shippers and their business partners informed of critical events in the fulfillment lifecycle. CarrierPoint's powerful integration toolkit provides a cost-effective way to extend the transportation capabilities of existing enterprise systems.
"We continue to expand our offerings, working closely with our customers to develop solutions that add the most value to their operations" said Brian Flint, CarrierPoint's vice president of product development. "We will continue to rapidly extend our solutions, and will have additional releases throughout the year."
Release 1.4 has been live on CarrierPoint's application service provider (ASP) site since March 13, 2001 and is in use by CarrierPoint customers in many industries. It is also currently being deployed in the data center of a major licensee and is immediately available to new CarrierPoint customers.
