CarrierPoint Announces Availability of Licensing Option
for Logistics Application Suite
Logistics Software Solutions Provider Offers Technology
Licensing Opportunities After Successful Implementation
in Latin America
ATLANTA, GA, February 20, 2001 /BusinessWire/
CarrierPoint(SM), Inc., a leading provider of Web-based
logistics software solutions to the $154 billion less-than-truckload
and full-truckload freight market, today announced that
it will offer customers the option to license its proprietary
software.
Until now, CarrierPoint has concentrated on providing
its logistics application suite in an Application Service
Provider (ASP) format. However, following the success
of a major licensing deal in the Latin American market,
CarrierPoint is extending this option to corporate customers
who desire the additional flexibility that licensing
offers.
NetLogistiK.com, an online logistics marketplace focusing
on Latin America, is the first to license CarrierPoint's
proprietary software.
"We were able to completely customize CarrierPoint's
software to fit our needs," said Rene Fernandez,
CEO of NetLogistiK.com. "Due to CarrierPoint's
modular and flexible software architecture, we were
able to change the application look and feel, translate
it to Spanish and Portuguese and regionalize it in a
short period of time."
"Licensing opportunities will provide our customers
with total control of their operating environment, more
flexibility in customization functionality, maximum
operational control and no recurring transactional or
subscription costs,'' said Cliff Isaacson, CarrierPoint's
chief information officer. "We are pleased to provide
our customers with a choice of either renting or licensing
our logistics application suite."
