Brian Kinsey (Chairman)
|
|
Brian has dedicated his career to improving the
management and operation of motor carriers. He
has in-depth experience in the areas of operations,
marketing, purchasing, safety, and industry public
relations. He brings to CarrierPoint demonstrated
strengths in the areas of building organizations,
developing concepts into successful programs and
products, focusing on results, negotiating and
resolving conflicts, and planning strategies and
budgets.
As a Vice President with Landstar Systems and
an Executive Vice President with Landstar Inway,
Brian had primary responsibility for executing
operational initiatives that delivered significant
value to the company. Examples of these initiatives
include implementing programs that reduced owner-operator
turnover; creating and managing a buying cooperative
for owner-operators, agents, and drivers; and
creating the business plan for a startup Internet
e-Commerce catalog business to service the operating
needs of trucking companies.
Brian received his bachelor's degree in Behavioral
Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology
and an MBA from Harvard University.

J. Edward Houston
|
|
Mr. Houston is of counsel to the law firm
of Houston & Shahady, P.A., a Fort-Lauderdale-based
law firm. He has practiced law for forty years
and served six years as a United States Bankruptcy
judge. He was President, Chief Executive Officer
and a Director of Barnett Bank of South Florida
for six years; Chairman of the Board, President
and Chief Executive Officer of South Florida Savings
& Loan for two years; and Chairman of the
Board for Old Dominion Insurance Co. for five
years. More recently, Mr. Houston was President
and Chief Executive Officer of Port Dania, Inc.
and Savoy Shipping Company. He has been a member
of the Board of Directors of Avatar Holdings,
Inc., Barnett Leasing Company, Barnett Bank Trust
Company and Great American Bank.
Mr. Houston holds degrees from Stetson University
and Stetson College of Law.

C. Tycho Howle
|
|
Mr. Howle, founder of Harbinger Corporation,
brings an unparalleled knowledge of and commitment
to the business to business e-commerce space that
will help shape CarrierPoint’s emergence as one
of the leaders in the rapidly growing e-logistics
industry.
Prior to Harbinger, Howle was a consultant with
McKinsey Company, Inc., specializing in marketing
and strategy studies. He also held positions at
Hewlett-Packard and Booz, Allen Hamilton’s Applied
Research Unit. Howle earned his MBA from Harvard
Business School after completing both undergraduate
and graduate studies at Clemson University where
he earned a BS with honors in Physics and an MS
in Systems Engineering.
In addition to Howle, the CarrierPoint board
of directors includes: J. Edward Houston, counsel
to Houston & Shahady, P.A., James P. Thompson,
senior vice president and chief operating officer
or the Transportation Services business unit of
the UPS Logistics Group, Alex Rosen and Rakesh
Sood, general partners of Sprout, Brian Kinsey,
executive vice-president, John Thomson, chief
executive officer of CarrierPoint and co-founder
of CarrierPoint and Cliff Isaacson, executive
vice president, chief technology officer and co-founder
of CarrierPoint.

James P. Thompson
|
|
Mr. Thompson is Senior Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer of the Transportation
Services business unit of the UPS Logistics Group.
Transportation Services offers comprehensive,
integrated transportation solutions with product
offerings including transportation management,
dedicated contract carriage, freight services,
intermodal services and automotive services. Transportation
Services is comprised of the combined resources
of Worldwide Dedicated Services, Martrac and UPS
Autogistics.
As Chief Operating Officer of Transportation
Services, Mr. Thompson is responsible for managing
and directing the group. Prior to his current
assignment, Mr. Thompson was Chief Financial Officer
and Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting
for the UPS Logistics Group. He was responsible
for all finance, accounting, real estate and facilities.
Throughout his more than twenty years with UPS,
Mr. Thompson has held various positions in operations,
accounting and finance including Package Operations
Supervisor, Accounting Supervisor, Accounting
Manager, District Controller, Corporate Domestic
Credit Manager and Vice President of Finance.
Mr. Thompson is originally from the Chicago area
and holds a degree in marketing from the College
of St. Francis and an MBA in finance from DePaul
University. He is a member of the Council of Logistics
Management (CLM).

Alex Rosen
|
|
Mr. Rosen joined Sprout in 1996 and was
promoted to General Partner in 1999. He previously
worked as an Associate for General Atlantic Partners,
focusing on software investments; for Boston Consulting
Group, designing product strategy for a telecommunications
software vendor; and as a Financial Analyst for
Credit Suisse First Boston.

Rakesh Sood
|
|
Mr. Sood joined Sprout as a General Partner
in January, 2000 with over 18 years of Wall Street
and technology industry experience. Prior to joining
Sprout, Rakesh was a Vice President and senior
analyst in the Internet/On-line Software and Services
group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and headed the E-Commerce
sector, with a special focus on B2B.
Mr. Sood was ranked a leading E-Commerce/Internet
analyst in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Greenwich Surveys.
He joined Goldman from Hambrecht & Quist where
he was a senior technology analyst. While at Hambrecht
& Quist, Mr. Sood co-founded the Internet franchise
and was closely involved with initial public offerings
of UUNET, Netscape and Check Point Software. Prior
to joining H&Q, Rakesh held operating positions
with AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel.
